Jenny's Story: I Know He's Healthy and Happy

My son, Timothy, will be three years old in November. I am very comfortable with the parents I have chosen for him. I met with John and Martha during my seventh month. My Sunny Ridge counselor was there to ease the nervousness and to keep the conversation moving. They are very much family oriented. That was very important to me since my family wasn’t very close.

They agreed to keep in contact with me for the first year. And, every month I’d receive a letter on how Timothy was doing. Four or five pictures accompanied each letter.

John and Martha are great! They’ve sent me a lock of hair from his first haircut, Mother’s Day cards, Christmas cards, and a few gifts. They kept his given name as his middle name, and we are still keeping in touch. It’s only once a year, but I’m comfortable with that.

The difficult times don’t seem so terrible now. I know he’s happy and healthy. My family is very proud of me.

My experience was a very positive one. I’d suggest it over abortion to any teen mother. I am hopeful of the day when I can be united with my son and John and Martha.
