Program What is this?
Children In Need of A Family	Open your heart and your home to a child from Lithuania. Children in need of a family include Caucasian children primarily above the age of six, as well as some with special needs, or sibling groups.
Travel	Two trips; one trip required for court hearing; one parent must then return in 40 days following court hearing to bring child home.
Benefits & Issues to Consider	Large network in Chicago area; singles eligible; Concerns about rate of fetal alcohol effect/syndrome.
Eligibility	Married couples and singles, between the ages of 25 and 49, may apply for the adoption of children from Lithuania. There is no length-of-marriage requirement, and clients with previous marriages are also accepted. Families with biological or adopted children may apply. Applicants must be in good health, have no criminal history, and be financially stable.
Medical Information	Medical information can be difficult to interpret and requires experienced medical evaluation.
Time frame	Process usually completed within 12 months.
