Experience.Since 1994 Sunny Ridge has placed over 800 children from China. Our professional staff has escorted over 70 travel groups, offering a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will benefit families. Accreditation. In early 2008, Sunny Ridge Family Center was among the first agencies to be accredited as a Hague adoption service provider. Only those international adoption service providers who have been accredited will be able to provide adoption services for Hague adoption cases. The Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption entered into force for the United States on April 1, 2008.

Sunny Ridge is also accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). This accreditation places the adoption programs at Sunny Ridge in a very select group, having been closely studied and identified for meeting or exceeding standards of organizational strength, quality of service, and best practices in adoption. COA is the “seal of approval” for agencies today. We believe that all children deserve the high-quality services recognized by COA. Sunny Ridge was one of the earliest Intercountry Adoption agencies in the United States to become accredited by COA.

Education and Preparation. Sunny Ridge will prepare you for the unique experience of completing your China adoption. Our staff offers a multitude of services, with educational seminars and meetings prior to travel that provide you with the skills and information needed for a positive adoption experience. Families benefit from the individualized attention to all the important details and administrative steps along the way.

Travel escorts. Many China adoption agencies provide a travel escort. However, through the Sunny Ridge program, families are escorted by a licensed social worker, providing professional help with the transition of becoming family. Our staff provides hands-on help with the physical, cultural, and emotional transition you and your child make immediately after placement. We also have a staff person based in China, serving as an first-rate advisor, translator, and guide for your in-China experience.

Ongoing activities and family. Sunny Ridge warmly welcomes your adoptive family to join other adoptive families at special events and cultural experiences, such as our annual Chinese New Year Celebration and the Sunny Ridge Picnic. Our staff will help facilitate and encourage ongoing group visits. Through these activities, your child will celebrate his or her culture and socialize with other children with similar backgrounds.
