China Adoptions in Illinois

Program Overview

Our China adoption program began in 1994 when Sunny Ridge received approval from the China Center of for Children's Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA) for the placement of children from China. In September of 1994, Sunny Ridge escorted our first group to China and placed four children. Since that time, Sunny Ridge has escorted over 70 travel groups and placed over 850 children from 20 provinces.

Our China Adoption program is a direct placement program, meaning Sunny Ridge can offer comprehensive services, from application to post-placement, for families living in Illinois. For families outside these states, Sunny Ridge can serve as your placing agency, as you work with an agency in your state to complete your home study.

With staff located in the United States and in China, Sunny Ridge can provide everything from dossier coordination, educational meetings prior to travel, group travel and family support, and post-placement visits.
